Scotland - Pitlochry & Edinburgh
The train trip from Thurso to Edinburgh is over 7hrs so we decided to break it with a day stop half way, looking at the map saw that Pitlochry was perfect. This scenic town as it turned out is a major cycling and hiking hub for trails through central Scotland. We booked a 2 night stay to take the opportunity to explore the town and 'veg out'. It turned out to be a great choice.

Best Edinburgh Lookout-Calton Hill
Just a short walk from Waverley Station Calton Hill affords the best 360 deg panoramic views of the city and beyond. But there is never something for nothing! You earn this privilege attacking a short but extremnely steep ascent and as with all ascents, don't take the decent for granted!
