MILANO to RIOMAGGIORE

This is one of the easier blogs to put together in that it's the pictures that tell the story. Riomaggiore is an old Italian fishing and wine making village dating back to the early 13th century and is located in the Riviera di Levante on the Mediterranean's Gulf of Genoa. It is one of a group of 5 villages, locally described as a 'comune', found in close proximity along a short stretch of this coastline known as the Cinque Terra (5 towns). This is a pretty amazing part of the world.

Getting around Riomaggiore is 50% easy and 50% not so easy, but great exercise and Camino training. Up from the bottom of the Village involves steep pathways and steps, lots of them. Our 'digs' were at the uppermost top end of the village which was worth the effort for the place was pretty specky and the views fantastic. Some days had us doing 4 round trips and at the moment my calf's are like bricks.
