Training: Walking regularly distances working up to 25 kms in order to average 20 kms a day for 15 days.
Why?: Because we are heading to Spain via the UK and France in June 2018 to walk 300 kms of the Camino Francis from Leon to Santiago de Compostella.
What is a Camino Francis?: It is but one of many, but the most traditional, centuries old religious pilgrimages through Spain which Catholic Monks undertook seeking religious fulfilment and enlightenment. The walk commences at Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, a French village at the base of the Pyrenees Mountains, which borders the two countries and finishes at Santiago de Compostella, 790 kms across Northern Spain.
Are we Catholic Monks seeking religious fulfilment and enlightenment?: No. Just Intrepid Travellers!
So, todays early morning walk was a short solo effort of 7 kms completed in 1hr 25min stopping for a few photos along the way.
