Novosibirsk-Moscow (12-16 June)
After a 4 1/2 hour flight from Beijing we arrived at Novosibirsk, Capital of Siberia, at 1030 for a short layover before our scheduled 1230 flight to Moscow. We were processed through immigration quickly and efficiently then walked a short distance between the International and Domestic terminal which are all in the one contemporary and very modern building.
Snow covered peaks over Siberia
We had coffee and a snack at one of the airport cafes and explored the terminal that incorporates a display of unusual and contemporary sculptures of a uniquely Siberian character in Genghis Khan and a Siberian wolf making our way to the departure lounge for our flight to Moscow.
Aeroexpress at Paveletskaya
Vladimir is a regional city 1 1/2 hrs by train from Moscow and was the original Medievil Capital of "Rus" between the 12th and 13th centuries. It is a contrasting place between old and new and has the Unesco World Heritage St Demetrius Monastery.

Flight to Moscow departed 1230 a little late and arrived 4 1/2 hrs later at Domedevedo airport at 1255! If you ever want to see in multiple new years and inflict a mighty hangover on yourself depart Vladivostok at midnight for Moscow.
Having gone through customs and immigration at Novosibirsk, the Moscow leg was a domestic flight thereby avoiding the much longer ques passing through immigtation control so our exit from the airport was quick and easy, making our short way to the Aeroexpress train station for the 40 minute trip to Pavelesky connecting with the Moscow metro circle line for the 15 minute journey to Smolenskaya, our metro destination, leaving a 5min walk to our hotel for our second visit together and my third dating back to the USSR in 1989.
We had 5 days from June 12-17 before reuniting with our friends flying in from Hong Kong.
